There are 2 things apparently appear on my mind when I heard about that province, there are elephant and Khmer. I have heard about these two things a lot and I think it's good to have a lot of elephants there so that many tourists can visit this province. Moreover, the tourists or the visitors can also learn about Khmer region since this province is close to Cambodia border.
